These speakers are very popular and with good reason, I personally have experienced them and everyone I have spoken to agrees with me when I say they are very fun speakers. The most incredible thing about them is they have the same high quality in all the ranges. Although none of them compare to the strong points of the more expensive speakers I have reviewed they still provide a lot of value for their price. I am always a fan of a set of speakers because I like to place one each side of my TV set and sit back and enjoy them weather playing music or watching my favorite TV show. For that reason, when you consider the combination of the awesome appearance of both speakers and the high quality along all ranges, these speakers are probably the best all round speakers I have reviewed and that is including the price.
The Pros:
- High quality along all ranges
- Looks modern and fits into your sitting room well
- Low crossover point which gives the tweeters a more central role
- Great for watching movies, gives high quality sound for all genres of scenes
- Easily set-up, you can also remove the protective covering from enclosurel
- Very affordable, less than $500
The cons:
- Doesn't have a "strong point". Produces all ranges at equal quality ( if this is a con).

Design
I conducted a test on these speakers, firstly playing a 20Hz-20kHz sine wave through each speaker and secondly playing a 47Hz-220Hz range sound. I used a frequency analyzer to monitor the results of each outcome. We were pleasantly surprised to see high quality control among both results. This gives us more basis to accurately say that the Kilpsch R-24F's can produce quality sound along all ranges.
Both these speakers possess two 8-inch IMG woofers along with a single 1-inch tweeter which will control most of the mid-range and high-range frequencies. Were always a fan of drivers which are bigger than 6.25 inches due to the fact in most cases it results in a better base response, I can safely say in the case of these R-24f's this is true.
One of the great aspects of the speakers design is that the crossover point is 1,800Hz. If you don't know this means the woofer will handle all frequencies below 1,800Hz, and any frequencies above 1,800Hz are controlled by the tweeter. This isn't the most usual cross over point because usually the woofer would control more of the mid-range but I have to say I am a fan of this particular unusual design specification because the tweeter actually does a fantastic job at handling both mid-range and high-range frequencies. The tweeter produced a rather flat response during my frequency experiments, which means this low-crossover point seems to be a success.
Setup and listening
A very simple set up, literally take them out of the package and stand them up, I really enjoyed trying out different genres of music with them, as I stated above they don't have a very deep base(but waaaay better than you'd expect for this price), they do provide a brilliant uncolored version of the recording and for that reason I really enjoyed listening to concert replays. For some reason I ended up listening to Bruce Springsteen's live concert in Sweden. These speakers really do shine when it comes to the mid-range, so it gives you that close feeling and that makes them really enjoyable. Bruce Springsteen in Sweden? random I know but it does show that these are really fun speakers to have and considering the price they are a great purchase.
Conclusion
Unfortunately if you don't like black then you wont like the color selection you are exposed to when buying these, you're only able to choose black. If you take away the protective cover from the enclosure, it shows the gold woofers inside the speaker enclosure. Surprising the woofers are esthetically pleasing without the covers. The gold woofers with the totally black cabinet display fits into my living roof fully and looks awesome.
